Kaleem Khan
I received my early education in Karachi, Pakistan. After completing my college education, I joined Gulf east Ship management Company, Hong Kong as a deck cadet in their recently revived sailing academy along with 19 other cadets to start my career at sea.
After completing my seatime as a cadet, I did my Second Mate’s CoC at The Australian Maritime College, Launceston, Tasmania and completed the Advanced Diploma in Applied sciences in January 1995.
I did my Chief mate and HND in 1998 from South Tyneside College, South Shields after completing the requisite seatime.
After sailing on tankers for virtually all my life, I joined Shell Shipping and Trading, London (STASCO) in October 1999 and continue sailing on tankers.
I was promoted as Master in early 2007 after passing my masters orals at Glasgow College of Nautical Studies.
I changed my career course to join Shetland School of Nautical Studies in June 2009 as nautical lecturer after doing a short stint as Superintendent Tanker Operations.
