Dry Cargo Loading Simulator

Dry Cargo Handling Simulator

At SSNS we believe in practical hands on training rather than just imparting the knowledge through lectures and handouts. Therefore we try to train by use of practical sessions, industry/ship visits, simulators, training vessels and where possible, use of live equipment and examples.

To assist in our training, SSNS recently acquired a PC based dry cargo loading/discharging simulator in addition to our Transas Liquid Cargo Handling Simulator. It is approved by classification societies and is more than just a planning tool for calculation of stress and stability of vessels.

SSNS has excellent PC based classroom facilities to train deck officers and cadets on:

  • Bulk Carrier
  • Container Vessel
  • Multi Purpose Vessel
  • Offshore Supply Vessel
  • Ro-Ro Vessel

Dry Cargo Handling Simulator provides the following facilities:

  • Graphical interface showing deck and bulk stowage areas with complete on screen views of Deadweight summary, Draughts, Trim and Heel, Stability calculation with GZ curve, intact, dynamic, grain and damage stability where applicable.
  • Draught Survey Report of planned vs. loaded cargo for bulk carriers.
  • More than 40 different conditions stored in memory for various loading, discharge port, Voyages, dates and ship planners.
  • For IMDG, Support is provided for segregation of goods including dangerous and/or polluting materials
  • Complete Container Planning using container vessel simulator and Water Ballast Management Plan.
  • The simulator for off-shore supply vessel includes a tabular and graphics windows providing full overview of the cargo situation.
